Day 2 / 365

Nikon D90, ISO400, F 5.3, SS 1/100 18-55mm lens, speedlight SB700 (bounced off the ceiling).

Making Sunday breakfast ---> chocolate pancakes.  Sneaking health into my sons diet ---> pancake mix with a little extra thrown in: chia seeds, wheat germ, some healthy powder stuff, cinnamon.  <:-)

I **just** got my SB700 speedlight for Christmas and am having a *blast* playing with it, even thought I don't know a darn thing about it (other than the first 40 pages of the manual I've read).

Day1 / 365

I am HOPELESSLY behind in trying to "catch up" from when I started my learning journey.  I am still trying to work through pictures from Aug 2009.
Thus, starting today, I am going day by day.  365 me!

 Nikon D90 18-55mm lens f 5, ss 1/250, natural window light.

Snowpops a la McMama's blog.
We made these for our Rosebowl party (GO WI, even though you, um, lost).  They were pretty easy and not too "fussy" so good for kids (if you don't mind a little mess clean up).  And they were delish!!!!!  Briefly, make cake; crush it; mix w/ ~1C cream cheese frosting, make into balls, freeze, put on skewer, dip in chocolate (here colored white chocolate) and add sprinkles.  A few changes to the recipe: 1) freeze the cake balls or they fall off while trying to cover them in chocolate.  2) put a bit of olive oil in the white chocolate once you've added the food coloring... I noticed the chocolate started to "freeze" no matter how much I heated it up (see Good Eats, when you add water to chocolate & inbalance the fat/chocolate ratio it will "freeze" up and not pour as well).

Boy oh boy, I hope I can keep up.  At least 1 photo a day isn't so daunting.  I get caught up in doing all things *perfectly* and getting all the right shots all edited the right way.  Man, that takes a LOT of time!  So here is to 1 photo a day!

My kitty cat Binny.  Or I should say my husbands kitty cat.  As many evil things as he does, I still love him to death!

I know the grain is crazy high b/c of the high ISO... but I was just messing around with my camera in poor light to see what it could handle.  I am actually coming to appreciate some of the grain....

Seriously??? STILL June 2009?

What can I say... I was excited to play with my fancy new camera....

I Heart Faces... Over My Head photo challenge

An "Over My Head" photo challenge at I Heart Faces  (www.iheartfaces.com)

We went to a "Fly-In" pancake breakfast this past weekend.  It was so much fun!  We were able to walk around and look at all the small planes, as well as watch them land and take off up close.  I got a lot of cute pictures this day.... not quite what I wanted, but still cute.

This FIRST picture is my ENTRY (b/c the plane is **j-u-s-t** taking off so, it is over their heads:

I wanted to post this second picture merely b/c I thought it was adorable.  Whoever sees toddlers actually SHARE?
